Jewish Weekend in Kraków Fosters Dialogue, Culture, and Connection

Project Kesher Ukraine’s first international Jewish Weekend brought together Ukrainian and Jewish communities in Kraków, Poland for three days of dialogue, learning, and cultural exchange. Under the patronage of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Kraków and conducted in partnership with JCC Krakow, an amazing team of capable and kind colleagues, the event created a vibrant platform for strengthening connections between Ukrainian, Polish, and Jewish partners.

The program featured 15 events, including panel discussions on Ukrainian-Polish cooperation, lectures, workshops, guided tours of the historic Kazimierz district, and a shared Shabbat experience led by Rabbi Alina Treiger. A standout moment was a performance from the rock opera RISE, honoring young Jewish women couriers who resisted during the Holocaust.

Participants explored themes of memory, identity, and resilience through conversations with scholars, artists, and community leaders, alongside hands-on cultural activities and creative workshops.

Blending reflection, creativity, and connection, Jewish Weekend in Kraków fostered a powerful sense of community—while expressing deep gratitude to Poland for its ongoing support of Ukraine.
