Our Work

WORK IN UKRAINE

In Ukraine, Project Kesher Ukraine (PKU) and the Women’s Opportunity Fund of Ukraine (WOF-UA) continue their deeply embedded, gender-responsive work despite unrelenting attacks on civilian infrastructure, rolling blackouts, and incessant displacement. This year, our teams mobilized emergency responses to intensified drone strikes—including the October attack on a Kyiv synagogue—as communities faced seemingly insurmountable obstacles. WOF-UA continued to fuel economic recovery by supporting hundreds of women-owned businesses with over half a million dollars in microgrants, bolstered by priceless training and mentorship programs. A fleet of 350 Ukrainian-made e-bicycles have been delivered to frontline healthcare workers, supporting 125,000+ home visits per month.

WORK IN ISRAEL

In Israel, instability still shapes the daily experience of Russian- and Ukrainian-speaking immigrant women. PKI strengthened critical services this year, including emotional and psychological support in Russian for women, teens, and children navigating acute trauma; expanding ulpan classes to help women integrate and find employment; and increasing employment and financial literacy programs to strengthen long-term stability.  PKI’s LGBTQ+ support program underwent its most significant growth to date, surging from just over 1,250 participants last year to more than 2,000 members today. PKI advanced mental health services, legal advocacy, and groundbreaking collaborations with Israeli health providers.
