Legacy Giving at Project Kesher:

The Mahlah Legacy Society

A Future Built by Jewish Feminist Visionaries

At Project Kesher, our deep commitment to Jewish feminist leadership is timeless—but we need your help to ensure it endures. Legacy giving, or planned giving, offers a powerful way to leave a lasting imprint on the values and communities we cherish.

Project Kesher established the Mahlah Legacy Society in 2018 in recognition of our 30th anniversary. In a time of patrilineal rule, Mahlah, daughter of Zelephochad, advocated for her right to her father’s inheritance. The Mahlah Legacy Society is a planned giving membership program developed to transform one-time gifts into life-time donations. With the Mahlah Legacy Society, Project Kesher supporters affirm our commitment to ensuring that the needs of Jewish women are met from generation to generation.

The goal of the Mahlah Legacy Society is to strategically coordinate and consolidate resources to ensure the perpetuation of Project Kesher’s mission: To develop women leaders, connect them, strengthen their Jewish identity, and empower them to build Jewish community; promote gender equality; eradicate religious and ethnic intolerance; and advance civil society.

What is legacy giving?

Legacy giving allows individuals to include Project Kesher in their estate plans—through bequests, life insurance, retirement accounts, or other planned gifts—ensuring that our mission of empowering Jewish women and girls for generations becomes a reality.

Your legacy is the most important beneficiary of all. With this gift, your life’s work and your values will be carried on in a meaningful way, during your lifetime and beyond.

Why it Matters

Legacy giving allows individuals to include Project Kesher in their estate plans—through bequests

  • Sustained Impact: Legacy contributions create enduring support for leadership programs, community-building, and advocacy.

  • Enduring Values: Your spirit and dedication to Jewish feminism can inspire future generations.

  • Family Legacy: It’s a meaningful way to model values like empowerment, tikkun olam, and social justice for your loved ones.

Ways to Give

Legacy giving can take many forms:

  • Bequests: Include Project Kesher in your will or trust

  • Retirement Funds: Designate Project Kesher as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k) or pension

  • Life Insurance: Name Project Kesher as a beneficiary of your policy

  • Donor-Advised Funds or Charitable Trusts: Allocate a portion to Project Kesher for sustained support

Note: Please consult your financial advisor or estate planner to align your gifts with your personal, legal, and tax planning goals.
