Promoting Self-Care Among Ukrainian Women

At the close of a challenging year, Project Kesher Ukraine partnered with the Hesed Besht Charity Foundation in Khmelnytskyi to offer a much-needed moment of respite to Ukrainian women through PKU’s transformative Me for Myself project. This initiative provided a sanctuary for self-care, creativity and emotional renewal, and offered participants the chance to restore balance, recharge and equip themselves with essential tools for their well-being.

Led by Dr. Natalia Sysko, a psychologist and member of the Ukrainian Psychotherapists Union, the event featured a practical session focused on overcoming stress and building resilience. Drawing on her expertise in client-centered and cognitive behavioral therapies, Dr. Sysko's session introduced actionable techniques for integrating self-care into daily life.

This PKU-initiated event also featured painter and graphic artist Andrii Kaptar, who guided participants through a vibrant art therapy session. In addition, massage therapist Olena Krushynska—renowned for her work with athletes and war veterans—introduced participants to body-centered relaxation methods including facial and head massages. PKU anticipates these techniques will help participants stay strong for their families, communities and country in 2025.
