Partner Profile: Anna Talisman

As part of our newly launched campaign recognizing members of our valued partner network, Project Kesher is spotlighting Anna Talisman, a leader in clinical social work and champion for Ukrainian- and Russian-speaking LGBTQ immigrants and refugees in Israel.

With more than 20 years of experience as a social worker and psychotherapist, Anna has made significant contributions to the Israeli healthcare system and currently works at Clalit Health Services, the largest of Israel’s four state-mandated health service organizations. Here she specializes in providing emotional support within the organization’s dedicated LGBTQ Center, which is visited by a growing number of individuals with increasingly complex needs.

Anna also oversees Project Kesher Israel’s LGBTQ support program, a role in which she fosters essential community building and advocates for critical government reforms. Her efforts have been instrumental in driving policy changes to ensure equal rights and healthcare access for immigrants and refugees within Israel’s ministries and the healthcare system.

Anna’s activism spans more than three decades. She was one of the first openly LGBTQ Russian-speaking social workers advocating for change, and has earned numerous prestigious awards for her pioneering efforts.
