Children’s Comfort Kits Bring Support to Families in Dnipro

In Dnipro, a series of events under the “Children’s Comfort Kits” project reached more than 100 participants, offering practical tools to help children and mothers cope with stress during wartime. Through the “Young Mothers Forum,” families connected with a psychologist and received guidance on supporting children’s emotional well-being, with 21 kits distributed in a warm, supportive setting.

Additional trainings, held in partnership with Hillel Dnipro and local schools, equipped parents, educators, and social workers with hands-on strategies—from grounding techniques to breathing exercises. One session took place during an air raid alert, in a shelter, where children and teachers practiced calming tools in real time. As one teacher shared, “Children were visibly becoming calmer right before our eyes.”

Together, these efforts are creating small but powerful “islands of safety” for children and families. Implemented by Project Kesher Ukraine in partnership with the Women’s Opportunity Fund of Ukraine, this initiative continues to expand, bringing both immediate relief and lasting resilience to communities under strain.
