Women’s Opportunity Fund of Ukraine Joins WE Finance Code

The Women’s Opportunity Fund of Ukraine has joined the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Code, an initiative to expand access to financing for women-led micro, small, and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs). Led in Ukraine by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture and the National Bank of Ukraine, with support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), it is part of a global WE Finance Code initiative active in more than 30 countries. In 2026, more than 20 organizations, including leading Ukrainian banks, credit unions, leasing companies, and industry associations, became its first Ukrainian participants.

By signing on, WOF-UA has committed to improving women’s financial literacy, strengthening data on women-led businesses, and promoting best practices in supporting women’s entrepreneurship. It will also help women entrepreneurs access information about financing, educational resources, and professional networks, and plans to join a working group focused on financing, business products, and support services. “Women entrepreneurs in Ukraine often need more than financial resources to grow their businesses,” says Vlada Nedak, founder of WOF-UA. “They also need knowledge, mentorship, professional networks, and access to information. We are ready to support women from the moment they decide to seek financing through to the point where they are equipped to use it effectively.”

The partnership builds on years of work. Through entrepreneurship training, educational programs, and grants, WOF-UA has already helped hundreds of women across Ukraine launch, rebuild, and grow their businesses, including in frontline regions, and since 2022 it has supported women-owned businesses in more than 15 sectors. As a WE Finance Code partner, WOF-UA will bring that hands-on experience to the table, helping ensure that access to financing goes hand in hand with learning, mentorship, and professional support.
