PKI Hosts Parenting Workshop in Petah Tikva
On October 19, Project Kesher Israel’s women’s group in Petah Tikva welcomed clinical psychologist and psychotherapist Eli Kleiner for a discussion on the challenges of raising teenagers. The session explored the psychological, emotional, and physiological changes of adolescence, including emotional regulation, growing independence, peer influence, and personal boundaries. Particular attention was given to how parents can navigate conflicts, establish healthy boundaries, and maintain trust as their children become more independent.
Through expert guidance and open discussion of familiar family situations, participants gained practical insights into one of the most challenging stages of parenting. By making professional knowledge accessible in Russian and creating a supportive environment for sharing experiences, PKI helps immigrant women strengthen their confidence and navigate the challenges of family life in Israel.
Eli Kleiner also serves as the coordinator of PKI’s LGBTQ+ group in Be’er Sheva. His involvement in the Petah Tikva women’s group is another example of the productive collaboration between PKI’s women’s and LGBTQ+ programs, allowing professional expertise, experience, and resources to be shared across communities, enriching both areas of the organization’s work.
