Meet Veronika Harmash, WOnder School FemSpeaking Club Host

Veronika Harmash is a communications and gender justice specialist dedicated to creating meaningful change through education and social justice. A graduate of Kyiv National University (2019) and the University of Alberta (2023), Veronika now works in Kyiv, where she supports educational and social projects across Ukraine with a focus on strategic communications and gender-inclusive policies.

“Growing up during Ukraine’s two revolutions, I didn’t fully grasp the complexities,” she reflects, “but I knew I wanted to contribute to the fight for justice somehow. This early calling led me to journalism, and later to pursue a Master’s in Gender and Social Justice.”

Her years studying abroad were transformative—not only for the academic knowledge, but for the vibrant debates and conversations with people from around the world. These experiences shaped Veronika’s conviction that diverse perspectives are essential for progress. “My core belief is simple: education, especially languages, is the key to building a non-discriminatory world. The more diverse experiences we encounter, the richer our lives become—and languages are the bridge that makes this possible.”

Despite opportunities abroad, Veronika chose to return to Ukraine, even during the ongoing war. “This is where I belong, and this is where my work matters most,” she says. Today, she is deeply engaged in supporting civil society, consulting on gender-inclusive policies, and volunteering within communities that need it most.

Veronika also hosts the FemSpeaking Club at the WOnder School of Project Kesher’s Women’s Opportunity Fund. The club provides a space for dialogue about feminism, women’s well-being, and empowerment—furthering her commitment to building a more just and inclusive world.

When she isn’t working, Veronika recharges through travel and exploration, seeking out new perspectives and stories. “Every journey and every conversation adds another layer to my understanding of how we can create change together.”
