Project Kesher Leadership Meets with Oksana Markarova, Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States

Last Monday, Project Kesher Board Member Lesley Weiss and Director of Development Samantha Tieger met with the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Oksana Markarova, to discuss Project Kesher’s work supporting women and girls in Ukraine. They highlighted Project Kesher Ukraine’s gendered humanitarian aid initiatives and small business grant programs, empowering Ukrainian women to play a meaningful role in rebuilding the country’s economy.

Lesley and Samantha presented Ambassador Markarova with Project Kesher’s Beacon of Democracy Award, recognizing her extraordinary leadership and unwavering commitment to democratic values and the people of Ukraine. They also thanked her for her video message for PK’s May 2025 benefit at the New York Times Center, which inspired attendees and helped make the event a memorable success.
