Meet Project Kesher Ukraine’s Nataliia Kovtun, Psychotherapist and Supervisor of the “Visiting Moms” Project

Nataliia Kovtun, a psychotherapist and supervisor of Project Kesher’s “Visiting Moms” initiative, brings both personal experience and professional insight to her work. Her journey into psychology began outside the classroom, through the profound transformation of becoming a mother. Recognizing the emotional complexities of early motherhood, Nataliia returned to school for a second degree in psychology, aiming to better understand and support women navigating this life-changing transition.

For nearly two years, she has spearheaded the “Visiting Moms” project, where experienced mentor moms provide vital emotional and informational support to new mothers. Nataliia also leads an active online community where participants explore everything from parenting struggles to managing anxiety during wartime. Her expert-moderated sessions offer mothers a lifeline: a place to share, learn and breathe.

Reflecting on her collaboration with Project Kesher, Nataliia emphasized the organization’s commitment to open, courageous dialogue and real change. She expressed deep admiration for Ukrainian mothers who persist in building the future amid the challenges of war, saying, “I am honored to be part of this process—through support, understanding and acceptance.”
