Celebrating Jewish Women Leaders in Dnipro

Last week in the city of Dnipro, participants of the “Where is Mom?” project—an initiative of the Beit Dan Jewish Community Cultural Center in Kharkiv—gathered for a session titled “Women Leaders in Jewish History.” Led by Olena Kolpakova, a regional manager of Project Kesher Ukraine (PKU), the session invited mothers to explore the legacy of influential Jewish women and reflect on the qualities that define true leadership.

“Where is Mom?” offers Jewish mothers and their children an opportunity to relax, connect and deepen their understanding of Jewish heritage in a warm, supportive setting. As part of the program, the group travels to various Ukrainian cities to discover local Jewish history and engage with new communities. Dnipro was their first destination and PKU was honored to participate.

During the session, participants heard stories about notable inspiring Jewish women, recognizing the vital roles these women have and continue to play in preserving tradition and community. PKU proudly carries this legacy forward, fostering spaces  where women support one another and embrace the enduring power of Jewish female leadership.
