Bridging Cultures Through Cinema and Conversation
On May 20, PKI co-hosted a special event as part of the “Like in the Movie” series at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque, in partnership with two prominent Facebook groups for Russian speakers in Israel. The event featured a compelling lecture by former Member of Knesset and PKI board member Ksenia Svetlova, a respected expert on the Middle East. Her talk focused on the Arab population in Israel and was followed by a short video showcasing PKI’s mission and impact, which received an enthusiastic applause from the audience.
The lecture was followed up by a screening of the film Dancing Arabs, which is centered around the complexities of identity and coexistence in Israel’s ethnic mosaic. Through events like this, PKI continues to foster dialogue and broaden awareness of Israeli society, helping Russian-speaking immigrants and the wider public engage with its rich, nuanced realities.
