‘Mothers & Daughters’ Seminar Brings Families Together in Lviv
From December 4–7, 2025, PKU hosted the Mothers & Daughters seminar in Lviv, bringing together 12 pairs of mothers and daughters (ages 13–14) from cities across Ukraine. For the first time, the seminar welcomed both Jewish and non-Jewish Ukrainian families, creating a shared space for dialogue, learning, and cultural exchange.
Over four days, participants explored themes central to family life and adolescence — identity, traditions, boundaries, health, leadership, and communication — through lectures, creative workshops, rituals, and discussions. The program blended Jewish and Ukrainian cultural experiences, including dance, Shabbat and Havdalah rituals, holiday symbolism, and a multicultural exploration of Lviv’s history.
Mothers and daughters spent time both together and separately, engaging in age-appropriate sessions on health, conflict resolution, and leadership, while also sharing reflective moments that strengthened trust and connection. The seminar concluded with a collective reflection on what participants would carry forward into their daily lives.
The Mothers & Daughters seminar became a warm, empowering experience that deepened family bonds, encouraged open conversation, and highlighted the power of women supporting one another across generations and cultures.
