31 Stories of Care: Ukrainian Bloggers Join PKU’s Pink October Campaign
Last month, Project Kesher Ukraine launched its annual Pink October campaign — a nationwide initiative reminding women that preventive breast checkups save lives.
Every October, the world turns pink to raise awareness about breast cancer — still the most common cancer among women. Early detection, however, gives more than 90% of women a chance for full recovery.
As part of the campaign, PKU held lectures by mammologists in 10 Ukrainian cities, where women learned about risk factors, self-examination, and the importance of screenings. Active participants received certificates for free ultrasound checkups.
To spread the message even further, 31 Ukrainian influencers joined the initiative, sharing daily reminders about women’s health throughout the month. Each received a symbolic Pink Box — filled with educational materials, self-care items, and a shower gel featuring a breast self-exam guide — encouraging women to make health a daily habit.
“31 days — 31 stories. We wanted these reminders to come from trusted voices — women leaders whom audiences read, watch, and listen to every day,” said Vlada Nedak, PKU & WOF-UA CEO. “Together, we reminded millions of women that even in times of war and uncertainty, it’s vital to take care of yourself.”
