Deepening Connection to Jewish Culture, History and Tradition
This past week, Project Kesher Israel (PKI) hosted two outstanding events. First, the organization held its third meeting with the Israel Women’s Network, a feminist non-partisan organization creating knowledge and tools for the promotion of gender equality in Israel. Attorney Marina Polinovsky delivered a presentation on women’s rights during times of war and political instability, and facilitated a comprehensive Q&A session.
In addition, the organization brought in Jewish art professor Olga Budkova, also a guide at Yad Vashem, the World’ Holocaust Remembrance Center. Ms. Budkova delivered an inspiring lecture on Jewish women artists, highlighting the life and work of Sonia Delaunay, the first woman to have a solo exhibition at the Louvre. Budkova captivated the audience with stories of how Delaunay’s abstract compositions were shaped by her Jewish heritage and upbringing in the Pale of Settlement.
Both events were specifically designed to be highly instructive and engaging while deepening individual connections to Judaism’s rich culture, history and tradition.
