New Cohort of Ukrainian Women Begin Free English-language Instruction

The Women’s Opportunity Fund of Ukraine (WOF-UA), the humanitarian sister organization of PKU has announced that its WOnder School—founded to provide free English-language learning to Ukrainian women—has welcomed its next cohort. On August 5, students began their immersion in English within a supportive community for women, preparing them for career growth and personal development. Classes use world-class resources and materials from Pearson and Cambridge University, and all instruction meets European CEFR standards.

The founding of the WOnder School reflects the call from Ukrainian President Zelensky that English be recognized as the county’s international language. Under the leadership of Galina Sadirova, Director of Special Projects at Project Kesher Ukraine, this initiative continues to grow and thrive..

Since its launch more than 18 months ago, the WOnder School has enrolled over 250 students and has steadily expanded its offerings. Today, it not only provides English-language instruction to beginners as well as specialized courses to professionals in a range of fields, but also offers  informal conversation clubs focused on verbal communication, business writing and other opportunities– thanks to their partnership with Litera, Cornell University’s Ukrainian Educational Outreach Program.
