Highlights from Project Kesher's Prague Gathering
Last week, 20 members of Project Kesher, Project Kesher Ukraine and the Women’s Opportunity Fund of Ukraine convened in Prague for training and strategic planning. The group participated in in-depth sessions focused on grant writing, project monitoring and evaluation (with Dr. Kristen Ali Eglinton from Footage Foundation), communications and development—enhancing their skills and learning new best practices.
Notably, the participants met with Anna Azari, the Israeli Ambassador to the Czech Republic, during which the NGO leaders gave a presentation on their high-impact initiatives. Mrs. Azari expressed her support for the organization and the countries of Ukraine and Israel. She encouraged the women to be visible and vocal, urging them to assert their presence in decision-making spaces. As a gesture of gratitude, the team gifted Mrs. Azari a printed Project Kesher Ukraine-language haggadah, symbolizing the modern history of Ukrainian Jewry.
The event also featured team-building activities, including a lunch at a woman-owned Ukrainian restaurant, a tour of Prague’s historic Jewish Quarter and a Shabbat dinner. These activities provided opportunities for personal connections among team members, many of whom were meeting in person for the first time. Special thanks to trusted partner, Evgeny Neymer of Jewrope, who hosted the delegation.
