Project Kesher Expands Reach of Vital Messaging Service in Ukraine
Project Kesher is proud to support the expanded reach of FemSMS, a compassionate messaging service providing critical resources for women and girls affected by the war in Ukraine. Originally conceived by the non-profit Footage Foundation and launched with initial seed funding from Project Kesher, the service is receiving renewed support as part of Project Kesher's commitment to funding initiatives that deliver significant benefits to Ukrainian women and girls, families and communities. The additional funding will go toward conducting ethnographic research of diverse messaging service users.
“We are committed to advancing pioneering research to enhance the physical and emotional health of women most affected by war, gender-based violence and forced displacement, while fostering our compassionate communication efforts,” said Project Kesher CEO Karyn Grossman Gershon, who is quoted in the official FemSMS announcement.
Project Kesher’s support for FemSMS has been made possible through funding received from Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) aimed at providing a larger gender-based response to the war in Ukraine.
