Project Kesher Israel Participants Come Together to Reflect on Hostage Situation

In the Israeli city of Petach Tikva, Project Kesher Israel hosted a group of 30 women to reflect on the hostage situation and the innocent men, women, and children who remain in captivity. They discussed the latest video footage released—a heartbreaking reminder of the trauma being inflicted on those who have been and remain imprisoned in Gaza.

Amidst their anguish, the Project Kesher Israel participants sought comfort and even joy in their togetherness. They baked challahs, and performed the mitzvah of hafrashat challah, separating a portion of the dough in accordance with the Torah. Project Kesher Israel CEO Rabbi Olya Weinstein spoke about the status of women and their rights in Israel, and helped restore individuals’ sense of hope.
