PKU-Hosted Open Talk Helps Normalize Menopause for Ukrainian Women

Project Kesher Ukraine (PKU) recently held its third Open Talk, a series of events that have facilitated conversation about difficult-to-discuss and taboo topics. This Kyiv-based session advanced the organization’s “Not on Pause” project, which aims to destigmatize menopause, promote open dialogue, support women navigating these changes, and challenge the silence and social prejudices surrounding menopause in Ukraine. This initiative has been pivotal in fostering a supportive environment for women in this stage of life, reducing an added element of stress amidst the ongoing conflict with Russia. To date, it has also encompassed a website, support group and an established Telegram community, where more than 200 women discuss their concerns with medical professionals and each other.
