Project Kesher Israel Coordinators Convene in Jerusalem
In early March, Project Kesher Israel (PKI) coordinators convened in Jerusalem to reflect on the evolving needs of women immigrants and refugees who have fled the war in Ukraine for Israel. The event also offered a forum for celebrating the enormous impact they’ve had across the country.
PKI coordinators play a vital role across the organization’s nationwide women’s groups, identifying needs, implementing programs, delivering aid, providing legal assistance and emotional support, and recruiting others to join their ranks. The retreat offered them key opportunities for learning, connection, team-building and professional growth, leaving participants rejuvenated and re-committed to their important work.
The pandemic and the recent war between Israel and Hamas have left fewer opportunities for in-person gatherings, which help keep coordinators focused and positive amidst the tragedies and often heartbreaking challenges experienced by those the organization is seeking to help. The gathering was productive and inspirational—a resounding success.
