PKI Study Tours Connect Immigrants to Israeli Culture

Last week, Project Kesher Israel’s LGBTQ and women’s groups embarked on inspiring study tours in Tel Aviv, led by the acclaimed guide Zeev Volk. Participants explored landmarks like the Sarona neighborhood, the Bialik Museum and other vibrant walking areas. The tours revealed captivating links between Tel Aviv and Odessa, Israel’s national poet and the creation of the first Hebrew city, offering participants a deeper appreciation of the city’s rich art and history.

The more than 70 participants deepened their understanding of Israeli culture and created lasting connections, both with each other and with Tel Aviv—a city that truly celebrates life and creativity. Amid ongoing attacks in Haifa and northern Israel, PKI remains unwavering in its commitment to support new immigrants and refugees.

Recognizing the importance of cultural adaptation, PKI has developed a curriculum to help participants navigate the historical, cultural and civic dimensions of their new home. These efforts are fostering a profound sense of belonging while strengthening community connections.
