Project Kesher Ukraine Hosts Transformative Mother-Daughter Workshop
Late last month, Project Kesher Ukraine hosted a powerful "Mothers & Daughters: Together" weekend in Lviv, bringing together mother-daughter pairs from Jewish communities across Ukraine. Held from October 25-27, the event welcomed participants from cities such as Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Lviv, Rivne, Uzhhorod, Khmelnytskyi, Shepetivka and Cherkasy, aiming to deepen family connections, celebrate Jewish traditions and inspire female leadership. Through interactive discussions, hands-on activities, and creative masterclasses, attendees explored the importance of family values and the enduring influence of strong female figures across generations.
Highlights included sessions titled "From Mother to Daughter: Family Values and Traditions” and "Simchat Torah and Women," as well as workshops honoring iconic Jewish matriarchs such as Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, Leah and Miriam—symbols of resilience and strength.
The weekend also featured memorable Kabbalat Shabbat and Havdalah ceremonies, with many experiencing Shabbat in a community setting for the first time.
