English Language Program for Ukrainian Women
Ukrainian women refugees are depending on the English they learned in high school to navigate life in Europe and to get back in the workforce. Since they are unlikely to learn a new language in a temporary country country of residence, Project Kesher Ukraine launched an English Language Program to help Ukrainian women practice the English they need to survive.
125 women participated in the program and are advancing to the next level in their studies. They will start the next part of the course in November. 20 women graduated from the highest level, and have been awarded with certificates of achievement for completing the 50-hour course. A new English-speaking class focused on employment and entrepreneurship in Europe will be available for Ukrainian refugees under Project Kesher Ukraine’s Women’s Opportunity Fund. The curriculum will support women who need to speak English professionally in order to advance their employment and businesses, and will cover resume writing, job interviews, negotiations, and presentations.
