Raising Resilient Communities
As we navigate a new reality, PK-trained leaders are prepared to adapt, assess, and react to the changing needs of our communities.
PK conducted a survey to understand how COVID-19 has impacted our PK activists financially and emotionally. Three hundred women from six countries participated. The survey showed that worsening economic conditions have led to major financial uncertainty and emotional distress, and that women are ready to fight the current challenges.
Our Global Project Kesher network has served as a support system for our activists throughout the pandemic and will continue to provide financial, physical, and mental health resources to those in need.
PK leaders have created protocols for emergency emotional support groups, filled gaps in domestic violence services, gathered hundreds of women for virtual Jewish holiday events, and delivered 1800+ packages of groceries.
PK has held 1,140 virtual events in Russian on topics including Jewish life in lockdown, meditation and resilience, recognizing signs of gender-based violence, and sustainable living at home. 34,800 participants from home have attended virtual programs to advocate Jewish life, share fact-based public health information, learn new skills, and connect. We’ve reached 1,293,000 people online with content promoting Jewish learning, financial self-sufficiency, social action, and the safety, health, and well-being of women and girls.
Sephardic Foundation on Aging Director Janice Stolar said, "Even during these unsettling times, Project Kesher continues to be a blessed lifeline for women. Such unchartered territory, yet Project Kesher understands the importance of the women’s needs for both body and mind.”
