Rosh Chodesh, the holiday that marks the beginning of every Hebrew month, has always inspired women to be creative. Over the last few months, PK Russia launched virtual Rosh Chodesh celebrations for PK-trained leaders from throughout the region. With the goal of providing an opportunity for leaders to connect and recharge, each month PK Russia offers an enriching Rosh Chodesh Program that weaves Jewish traditions, texts, poetry,  art, and music. This is one of the many ways that the PK network has been supporting women leaders during this difficult time.

On June 22, 2020, PKR hosted the first international Rosh Chodesh celebration with 88 participants from five countries participating live. The virtual program included music, poetry, and tradition of the month of Av. The September Rosh Chodesh celebration brought together 71 participants from Belarus, Israel, Russia, and Ukraine, to deepen their knowledge about the month of Tishrei and the High Holidays.

Svetlana S. from Gomel, Belarus participated in the most recent celebration and shared: "I enjoyed the optimistic perspective of the webinar. Rosh Chodesh highlights an interesting concept, the opportunity to start new each month. These days we are surrounded by negative messages, but this celebration allows us to think about the future in a positive way."

Nadezhda T. of Tula, Russia, a first-time participant, reflects on her experience: "I was very excited by the energy and the amount of important information I received. Thank you for the opportunity to feel part of a big family of Jewish women from different countries!"
