FemAgro Grantee’s Story Featured by Leading Ukrainian Media

The story of Tetiana Senchuk, a FemAgro grantee from Ukraine’s Poltava region, was recently featured by NV, one of Ukraine’s leading national media outlets.

A third-generation beekeeper, Tetiana has spent more than 20 years in beekeeping. She runs the family Senchuk Family Apiary, which produces honey, honey cream, beeswax, and candles, while also teaching future beekeepers, introducing other women and children to the profession, and building professional beekeeping communities.

Through the Women’s Opportunity Fund of Ukraine’s FemAgro educational and grant program, Tetiana expanded her business in a completely new direction: greenhouse farming. Grant support enabled her to purchase and install a greenhouse, along with a drip irrigation system and water storage tank, and begin growing medicinal herbs. Tetiana is now harvesting and drying these herbs and developing her own signature herbal tea blends, creating a new value-added product that complements her family’s beekeeping business.
