Ukrainian Cardiologists Share Research on the Global Stage

With support from the Women’s Opportunity Fund, Ukrainian cardiologists Vita Ruzhanska and Daria Didenko presented their research at the ESC Acute Cardiovascular Care 2026 Congress in Lisbon—one of Europe’s leading forums on acute cardiac care.

Representing Ukraine, the two doctors participated in international discussions, workshops, and the multidisciplinary “Heart Team,” engaging with the latest clinical practices and guidelines. Their work also highlighted the importance of gender-sensitive approaches in cardiology, including how cardiovascular disease presents differently in women.

Their participation strengthens efforts to bring advanced, evidence-based care to Ukraine. Both plan to integrate these insights into clinical practice and share them widely through training and education—advancing more effective and inclusive healthcare.
