Remembering Marcia (Marty) Cohen Spiegel

It is with great sadness that we share that Marty Cohen Spiegel has passed away. Through her travels and teaching with Project Kesher in its earliest years, Marty’s deep commitment to Judaism, feminism, and activism was embodied in our organization’s vision and work. Marty was critical to the development of PK’s programs, educating those around her on a wide range of feminist issues and introducing PK’s community to impactful women in her circle. In Ukraine, PK is proud to continue Marty’s legacy through its leadership in domestic violence advocacy. As rates of violence have risen during the war, PK trains and mentors local police and first responders, advances stronger legislation, and supports women seeking safety and justice. Even in times of crisis, PK affirms that women everywhere always have the right to live free from violence.
