Women Illustrate the Torah for Rosh Hashanah
On August 21, Project Kesher Israel hosted the latest session of the Women Illustrate the Torah series at the Olim Arts Center in Petah Tikva, in partnership with the local municipality. This gathering explored the theme “Rosh Hashanah: The Story of Sarah and the Sound of the Shofar.”
Led by lecturer, artist, and curator Galina Shevtsov, the session brought 23 participants into a thoughtful dialogue about the life of Sarah, as told in Bereishit. The group discussed the text, reflected on its meaning, and connected it to their own lives, while the creative setting of the Arts Center inspired new insights and warm exchanges.
As participants shared their stories and perspectives, the space was filled with color, community, and discovery — bringing a deeply meaningful experience of Jewish and feminist learning to an often underserved community.
