PKI Participates in “Beyond Gender” Medical Conference
Last week, the “Beyond Gender” professional medical conference was held at Bnai Zion Hospital, bringing together nurses, doctors, psychologists, and social workers to address equity in healthcare for LGBTQ communities. Anna Talisman, head of the PKI LGBTQ Support Program, represented PKI at the event.
Following the conference, PKI leadership met with Natalie Zion, head of the hospital’s nursing school, to plan the continuation of their partnership. For the past year, PKI has supported immigrant nursing students—many Russian-speaking—through a professional Hebrew ulpan to help them succeed in their studies and exams.
Looking ahead, PKI and the nursing school will expand collaboration by bringing medical professionals to PKI groups in Haifa and northern Israel to speak about women’s health, equal access to care, and culturally sensitive services for LGBTQ communities.
