Last Thursday, Project Kesher Israel marked the 4th anniversary of their women’s group in Petach Tikva—a milestone that reflects the power of grassroots leadership and meaningful partnerships with local municipalities.

What began as a group of 30 women has grown into a vibrant community of 250 participants, led by the remarkable Margarita Slavkin—PKI board member, Deputy Mayor of Petach Tikva, senior leader in Israel’s aerospace industry, and longtime PKI activist.

Over the course of 4 years, the Petach Tikva group has launched numerous initiatives which have since been adopted by other groups, ranging from PKI’s Hebrew Ulpan for new immigrants, to emotional support sessions led by clinical psychologist Ella Berchansky, to the “Women Paint Torah” project, a creative text study project with artist Galina Shevtzov.

PKI is incredibly proud of all that has been built by the Petach Tikva group, and all of the gemilut chasadim still to come.
