10 E-Bikes Delivered to Rural Medical Teams in Ukraine
The Women’s Opportunity Fund of Ukraine (WOF-UA) has just delivered 10 new electric bicycles to frontline medical workers in two underserved communities in the Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions.
In the Talalayivska community (Chernihiv), five e-bikes will help a small but dedicated 9-person healthcare team serve 5,000 people across remote villages ranging 10 to 15 miles apart, where there is no public transportation.
WOF-UA delivered another five bikes to Zachepylivska (Kharkiv), where 90% of the local medical team are women. Until now, they’ve braved the extreme summer heat with old, run-down manual bikes to reach 12,000 residents across 15 rural settlements.
These bikes are more than just transportation—they are a lifeline. They will reduce burnout, speed up emergency responses, and ensure that even the most isolated patients receive consistent, quality care.
