Celebrating 10 Years of Torah in Kamianets-Podilskyi
This month, the Hesed Besht Charitable Foundation marked a beautiful milestone: the 10th anniversary of receiving a Torah scroll from Project Kesher in the city of Kamianets-Podilskyi, Ukraine.
Over the past decade, the Torah has united and inspired this Jewish community, serving as a source of strength, resilience, and continuity. In 2025, Hesed Besht rebuilt its community space, creating both a new prayer hall and a Volunteer Center. An Aron Kodesh was lovingly installed, and just last month, the Torah was rededicated in a moving ceremony.
The celebration brought together many members of the community, including women’s clubs from Kamianets-Podilskyi and Khmelnytskyi. The Torah scroll was carried in procession, passed from hand to hand like an eternal flame—symbolizing the endurance of Jewish life, even through the darkness and uncertainty of war.
This anniversary reminds us of the deep connections PKU has nurtured across Ukraine, and of the power of women-led communities to keep Jewish tradition alive for the next generation.
