Queer Feminist Leadership in Action

On August 8, PKI’s LGBTQ program proudly took part in an extraordinary gathering at the Tel Aviv LGBTQ Center: “Our Own Room,” a program designed to elevate lesbian women into leadership positions and strengthen queer feminism in Israel.

The event marked the conclusion of a 10-session Leadership Program for Lesbian Women, led in part by PKI’s Head of LGBTQ Support, Anna Talisman, MSW. The evening opened with a lecture by Gal Deutsch on women CEOs in the nonprofit sector, followed by a powerful panel featuring leading women CEOs from across Israel’s LGBTQ community—trailblazers who have led key feminist struggles.

Representing PKI, Anna spoke about the “double and triple glass ceilings” faced by women who are not only female, but also LGBTQ+ and immigrants. Her insights highlighted the resilience and creativity required to lead in spaces still dominated by men.

The gathering sparked inspiration and laid the groundwork for future collaborations, strengthening feminist leadership at the heart of Israel’s queer community.
