Haaretz Features Project Kesher Israel’s Wartime Role

Amidst the Iranian attacks on Israel, Haaretz—the Israeli newspaper of record—featured coverage of Project Kesher Israel (PKI) and its work responding to the critical, immediate needs of highly vulnerable Russian-speaking immigrants and refugees.

The article quotes PKI CEO Rabbi Olya Weinstein speaking about this population. She said: “These are people with layered trauma — as LGBTQ+ individuals persecuted in Russia, and as war refugees arriving into another war. Many are alone in the world, some still closeted, and in a fragile mental state. We realized they need emotional support in their native language.”

Haaretz has thus far only published a Hebrew-language version of the article, available online here and below.
