Strengthening Ties with Germany’s LGBTQ Community

Last week, two leaders from Project Kesher Israel’s (PKI) LGBTQ programs represented the organization in Germany. Sonya Kogan, coordinator of the PKI LGBTQ group in Tel Aviv, participated in an LGBTQ retreat hosted by the Jewish non-profit Moishe House in Berlin. She shared her personal journey of fleeing Putin’s regime with her wife, Nika, and highlighted PKI’s vital support in securing Nika’s Israeli citizenship. Sonya also spoke passionately about establishing and growing the Tel Aviv LGBTQ group, which will provide needed support to a vulnerable Israeli population.

Meanwhile, Anna Talisman, head of PKI’s LGBTQ support program, met with Quarteera, a Russian-speaking volunteer at the LGBT association in Berlin, to share knowledge on supporting LGBTQ immigrants in Israel and beyond. Additionally, Anna will take part in the Winter Pride Parade in Leipzig, with the purpose of strengthening ties between PKI and Germany’s LGBTQ community.
