PKI Calls for Inclusive, Data-Driven Domestic Policy
Anna Talisman, Head of PKI’s LGBTQ+ Program and Domestic Violence Coordinator for the Tel Aviv District at Clalit Health Services, participated in the Ministry of Health’s professional workday marking the International Day for the Elimination of Domestic Violence. The gathering brought together national committee members, researchers, and senior professionals to review the past year’s efforts and set priorities for the year ahead.
Research presented at the event revealed troubling gaps – immigrant women from Ukraine, Russia, and other countries, as well as LGBTQ+ individuals, were largely invisible in the data. Anna stressed that these communities, especially LGBTQ+ immigrants from the Russia–Ukraine conflict region, face compounded vulnerability. Their absence in research and policy creates critical blind spots in prevention, intervention, and support.
She called for culturally, linguistically, and gender-sensitive approaches to ensure that every survivor is seen — and served.
