PKI LGBTQ Groups Support New Immigrants in Haifa and Petah Tikva
PKI LGBTQ groups in Haifa and Petah Tikva held sessions to support new immigrants navigating identity and self-expression. In Haifa, participants discussed the emotional challenges of “coming out” again in a new country and maintaining family connections in homophobic environments, sharing personal stories and mutual support. In Petah Tikva, a self-representation workshop helped participants overcome internalized insecurity and the pressure to “prove themselves,” strengthening confidence and practicing clear, proud self-expression.
Both sessions provided valuable tools and community support, helping participants navigate life as LGBTQ+ immigrants with resilience and self-acceptance. PKI’s LGBTQ groups are supported by the Mazer Family Fund of the UJA Federation of New York.
