Exploring the Legacy of an Immigrant Israeli Founder
Last week, the PKI women's group from Petach Tikva had the opportunity to visit the Chaim Weizmann Museum in Rehovot and learn about the life and legacy of Chaim Weizmann, Israel's first president. Participants learned that Weizmann, a trailblazing researcher, not only helped found the State of Israel, but also Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Weizmann Institute of Science. The tour emphasized how Weizmann, like many of them, made a new life in Israel after making aliya.
Beyond offering deeper insight into Israeli history and cultural foundations, the visit was inspirational for PKI members who themselves are new immigrants and refugees. It also highlighted world-class opportunities for those pursuing careers in science and research, and the potential for all Israelis to contribute to the country’s cutting-edge innovations.
