Project Kesher Israel Marks the Jewish Month of Elul

Timed with the Jewish month of Elul, Project Kesher Israel (PKI) kicked off a month-long series of Jewish educational events aimed at encouraging participants to reflect deeply on themselves and their surroundings in the lead-up to a nationwide gathering at the end of September. The first sessions—led by Jewish educator Sofya Axelrod and group coordinator Ramat Gan—have explored midrashic stories about introspection, personal relationships and our connection to the world around us.

Amidst this period of reflection, the ongoing war continues to weigh heavily on the community. To help participants cope with the stress and uncertainty, PKI’s psychologists and social workers have been providing vital emotional support. Mental health professionals such as Ella Berchansky and trauma specialist Yulia Zatulovsky have conducted group and individual sessions to help women cope with their fears. As participants navigate the challenges of war, these support services have been essential in helping them find resilience and balance.
