Helping Ukrainian Mothers and Children Endure the Trauma of War
Project Kesher Ukraine recently helped advance a series of restorative multi-day camp-like events for families as part of its collaboration with the Mazel Tov Foundation in the country’s Zaporizhzhia region. These events serve mothers with children ages 4 to12 who live locally as well as those who have been evacuated to the region as a result of the conflict with Russia.
The events are guided by experienced psychologists and social workers, who work directly with the mothers and children, alongside trained coordinators. Participants also receive collections of gifts on behalf of Comfort Kits for Children, which curates items specifically for children facing difficult and traumatic situations, providing comfort and a sense of normalcy.
Project Kesher continues to work closely with trusted partners to seek ways to improve the lives of girls, women and communities struggling to cope with the realities of war.
