Presenting at an Inaugural Conference on Religion and LGBTQ+ Identity
This week, Bar Ilan University, a prominent Israeli academic institution grounded in Jewish religious principles, made history by hosting its first-ever conference on religion and LGBTQ+ identity. This groundbreaking event marked a significant step toward fostering inclusivity for those with diverse identities within the academic and religious spheres.
Project Kesher Israel’s Head of LGBTQ Support Program, Anna Talisman, joined local LGBTQ coordinators and partners at the conference to present PKI’s initiatives, connect with speakers and engage municipal LGBTQ organizations for future collaborations.
A highlight was the enthusiastic response from Ramat Gan municipality representatives, who expressed interest in establishing a new PKI LGBTQ support group specifically for Russian-speaking immigrants in the city. This development promises to expand PKI’s reach and impact.
