New LGBTQ+ Support Group Launches in Be’er Sheva

Project Kesher Israel (PKI) is thrilled to announce the opening of a new LGBTQ+ support group in Be’er Sheva—the first in the city specifically for Russian- and Ukrainian-speaking individuals. This new group, PKI’s fifth LGBTQ+ support initiative, was created in partnership with the Be’er Sheva Open House and Clalit Health Services.

Led by clinical psychologist Eli Weiss Kleiner, the Be’er Sheva LGBTQ+ support group will provide vital emotional support and tailored educational resources for new and long-standing LGBTQ+ immigrants in Israel.

Be’er Sheva, a city of about 250,000 residents, is home to a large Russian-speaking community, with approximately 65,000 immigrants from Russia, Ukraine and other neighboring countries. This group offers a safe space for these individuals to find community, connect and thrive. By launching this group, PKI hopes to foster a welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ olim in Be'er Sheva and beyond.
