Breast Cancer Awareness Takes Center Stage in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine
To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Project Kesher Ukraine and the Women's Opportunities Fund hosted a gathering in its new office space. They welcomed Dr. Nataliia Vavilina, a gynecologist and mammologist, to lead a lecture on breast cancer prevention and the importance of regular health check-ups. The event sought to break down the stigma surrounding breast cancer by fostering a public conversation about early detection and self-care, encouraging women to prioritize their health.
Women of all ages attended, dressed in pink as a show of solidarity and awareness, creating a supportive atmosphere for learning and discussion around cancer prevention. The organizers held a raffle offering gift certificates for breast ultrasound exams at a local clinic, emphasizing the importance of accessible healthcare and women staying proactive about their own wellness.
