PK in Israel Supports Ukrainian Refugees and Immigrants

Project Kesher Israel (PKI) is helping Ukrainian women and families evacuate from Ukraine, travel to Israel safely, and start their new or temporary lives.
In just two months, the work of PKI has:

  • Evacuated 300 people from Ukraine;

  • Provided emotional and legal support for 42 LGBTQ couples from Ukraine;

  • Donated resources for the families of 44 Ukrainian children who are hospitalized in Israel due to medical conditions. PKI volunteers organized a Passover celebration for these families;

  • Conducted four weekly support groups for Ukrainian women facilitated by Russian speaking psychologists and clinical social workers across Israel;

  • Taught Hebrew lessons on Zoom and will commence in-person lessons in collaboration with the Ministry of Integration;

  • Led workshops on resume building, job searching, and job interviews with the Jerusalem municipality, conducted by Russian-speaking HR professionals;

  • Coordinated and distributed donations of clothes and essential items for refugees and new immigrants in three municipalities;

  • Facilitated educational programs for the Israeli public, and media, including the Jewish Agency for Israel, Israeli Defense Forces, Bina- the Jewish Movement for Social Change, and Israel's Russian-speaking Women’s league;

  • Coordinated donations and dissemination of laptops for refugees with partners including HP, the US Embassy, Partner cellular company and private donors; and

  • Mobilized partnerships on behalf of Ukrainian refugees and immigrants, with municipalities in five cities, the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration, Jewish Women International, Rashut HaRabim, Reform Movement, JCC Global, Bina, and Kehilat Zion in Jerusalem.
