Study Tour in Jerusalem
Last week, Project Kesher Israel partnered with the Municipality of Ashkelon to host a study tour of Jerusalem for new Ukrainian immigrants in Israel. The local municipality and the Ministry of Immigration and Integration sponsored a bus for 53 Ukrainian women, all new immigrants living in Ashkelon, to travel to and learn about Jerusalem and Jewish history. This was the majority of participants’ first time seeing the city. The tour focused on the first waves of early immigration in Israel and the changes that new waves of immigration have inspired. The tour brought a sense of community and belonging to the participants.
