Project Kesher Friends, Activists, and Supporters Celebrate the Dedication of the Project Kesher Archives to Brandeis University
On October 23, 2019 at Rapaporte Treasure Hall of the Brandeis Library Project Kesher, Brandeis University Archives & Special Collections, Hadassah-Brandeis Institute, and the Jewish Women’s Archive celebrated the gift of the Project Kesher archives to Brandeis University.
Brandeis Archives & Special Collections is home to significant holdings on Jewish feminism, including the Lilith Magazine archives. The Project Kesher materials are an important addition to this repository, as they tell the story of the crucial role that women played in the movement to free Soviet Jewry and to support both Jewish refugees who immigrated as well as those who stayed in the post-Soviet States.
“She can do anything!” has become the slogan and motto for Project Kesher leaders in Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus as they have rebuilt Jewish life and blazed the trail for a feminist movement in their countries.
