Convening Trusted Partners

WORKING COLLABORATIVELY STRENGTHENS OUR GRASSROOTS ADVOCACY AND DIRECT SUPPORT, HELPING US REACH COMMON GOALS

By convening individual and institutional thought leaders, Project Kesher formalizes the sharing of best practices and inspirational ideas to reach such goals as advancing the status of women and empowering them to advocate for the society they want.

Key topics the organization is actively advancing include:

ORGANIZING
and supporting the Ukrainian women’s philanthropic community, building capacity and preparing local leaders to better advocate for the needs of Ukrainian women.

PROVIDING
real-life strategies and support for Ukraine’s predominantly female workforce of teachers and social workers, allowing them to better help children navigate the realities of war.

EMPOWERING
Ukraine’s predominantly female nursing workforce to better communicate needs and advocate for resources.

To illustrate, Project Kesher has convened and underwrote workshops on preventing and responding to conflict-related sexual and gender-based violence, centering the voices of Ukrainian-run women’s NGOs.

We assembled thought leaders such as:

Oleksandra Matviichuk

Head of the Kyiv-based, Nobel Peace Prize award recipient Centre for Civil Liberties

Abby Pariser

Who was part of a collective providing abortions in the US before the passage of Roe v. Wade;

and leaders from the UN

Since then, the primary workshop organizer has been hired by the WHO to oversee refugee efforts in her region of Europe, leaving Project Kesher’s values in place in an institutional setting. We were then able to help two of the participating organizations get $25,000 grants through our foundation relationships.
